Tigers Dominate First Half in Blowout of Riverhawks

Eleven Napavine players in total scored and the Tigers had no trouble dumping visiting Toledo in a 65-28 victory over the Riverhawks in Central 2B League play Thursday.

The Tigers leaped out to a 20-3 run to start the game and outscored the Riverhawks 24-5 in the second quarter to take a dominant, 44-8 lead at the half.

“Napavine plays really good defense and they brought it tonight,” Toledo Grady Fallon said.

Sophomore James Grose led Napavine’s attack with a game-high 17 points to go with five boards, while Keith Olson added 12 points and seven rebounds. Jarin Prather tallied nine points and Gavin Parker finished with four points and a team-high eight boards.

”We had a great senior night,” Napavine coach Rex Stanley said. “We had six seniors that played really well.”
