Tigers edge out Lumberjacks on sets

The Centralia boys tennis team won its non-league match against R.A. Long on Tuesday on a tiebreaker, beating the Lumberjacks in sets after splitting the six matches 3-3.

The Tigers took all three singles matches, led by Jacoby Corwin’s 6-0, 6-1 win over Payton Thill at the top spot. Behind him, Jonah Lowe won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, and Pablo Dominguez won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3.



The Lumberjacks leveled things at the bottom of the card with three doubles wins. Connor O’Dell and Kadin Yeung had the closest match at No. 1, taking a set but falling 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Jordan Yeung and Justin Kuykendall lost 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2, and Kycen Donahue and John Kuykendall lost 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3.
