Tigers end season with win over Highclimbers

The Centralia girls basketball team ended its season on a high note on Friday, defeating Shelton 53-46 on senior night.

The Tigers took command early, doubling up Shelton in the first quarter before extending their lead to 19 at halftime.

The lead was up to 20 entering the fourth, and the Tigers were able to survive a late Shelton push to hold on for the win.

Three Tigers finished in double figures, including Payton Baumel, who led the team with 12 points. Makayla Chavez scored 11 and Ayana tallied 10. Gracie Schofield also nearly hit double-digits, adding eight points.

Centralia finishes its season 3-17, including a 2-10 mark in 2A EvCo play, and they are set to gradutate Chavez, Schofield, Sienna Bell, and Aubrie Buitenbos.
