After a short break, the Centralia girls golf team fell to Tumwater at Tumwater Valley Golf Course Tuesday afternoon in league action, 47-34, under the Stableford scoring format.
Samantha Johnston was again the match medalist, scoring a match-high 19 points for the Tigers — her third match medalist in five matches played — but the Tigers couldn’t muster enough behind her to earn the victory.
Emily Wilkerson scored nine points, Elizabeth Orellana scored four, and Melissa Mora scored two points.
The T-Birds were led by Josie Monti’s team-high 14 points.
“She has been match medalist for 3 of 5 matches we’ve played,” Centralia coach Hal Gronseth said of Johnston. “She probably didn’t score as much as she’d like but played pretty well. It was a nice day to play, the sun was shining but it was really wet, I don’t think anyone would’ve said they shot their best round.”
The Tigers take on Shelton on the road Wednesday for another league matchup.
