For its first official home track meet of the spring season, the Centralia track squad was greeted with the sunniest day of the year to date, and put together some solid performances in a tri-meet with Shelton and Aberdeen.

Led by four winners, all girls, the Tigers had a huge amount of personal bests to celebrate Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Lucy Nowicki won the 400 meters with a 1:10.24 time, and also competed in the 4x400-meter relay that ran unopposed, posting a 5:03.98 time along with Olivia Grugenski, Isabelle Guginski, and Keria Jones.

The other two winners were both throwers: Maggie Eiland posted a season-best 76 foot, six inch toss in the discus, and Summer Holmes grabbed a personal best 89 foot, 9.5 inch javelin toss, to both capture first in their respective events.

For the boys, while they didn’t earn a winner, several runners had good days. Jonathan Wilkerson posted personal bests in both the 100 meters and 200 meters, running a 11.96 100 for third, and a 24.69 200 for second overall.

Junior Devin Harrison took third in the 1600 meters, running a 4:54.16 and then doubling down for a personal best 3200 meter run of 10:42.12, a career-best.

Willie Stinkeoway also recorded personal bests in both the shot put and discus, throwing for 39 feet, 9.5 inches in the shot (third) and 113 feet, 1 inches in the discus (second).
