Playing against a similarly young Stevenson squad, Napavine proved stronger in a come back, five-set victory (19-25, 25-13, 21-25, 25-17, 16-14) Monday night.

The Tigers served up 22 aces in the win, with several players serving at 100% for the match.

“My girls did a great job hitting their spots,” Tigers coach Monica Dailey said. “They were really scrappy, they were playing hard and being aggressive, but we weren’t communicating well enough.”

Back row duo Emily Kang and Nikki Ahmann combined for 12 aces and 38 total digs in the victory, setting the pace for the match and helping to limit the Tigers hitting errors on the night.

Sophomore Grace Gall added six aces, 26 digs, and nine kills, and sophomore Keira O’Neill led the team with 12 kills and five block kills. Eden Engel contributed four kills and was aggressive at the net, per Dailey.

Napavine (6-8, 3-5 league) closes out the regular season at Morton-White Pass on Wednesday.
