Napavine jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half and held on for a 3-1 road victory over Forks in a Central 2B League North Division match.

The Tigers found goals from three players: Maya Kunkel (30th), Makensee Taliaferro (32nd) and Natalya Marcial (66th), before surrendering a goal to the Spartans in the 76th minute.

The Tigers were forced to make adjustments to Forks’ turf field, and battled rain and wind all night.

“We were able to hold on,” Napavine assistant coach Chris Tarabochia said.

Napavine (10-3 overall) hosts Ocosta on Wednesday in another league matchup. A win over the Wildcats would secure at least the No. 2 seed for the 2B District 4 playoffs.
