Avoiding a rainout and heading a bit east for a league battle, the Napavine softball team defeated Morton-White Pass in a doubleheader Monday afternoon, 20-0 and 18-3, both in four innings.

In Game 1, Hannah Fay threw a complete game, allowing just one hit in a shutout performance with three strikeouts and three walks. Grace Pancake went 1 for 2 with a triple, scoring a run with three RBIs, Hayden Kaut knocked in three more runs on a base hit and scored three runs herself, and Avery Schutz went 2 for 3 with three runs scored and an RBI knock.

MWP’s lone hit came from Natalia Armstrong.

In Game 2, the Tigers allowed a couple runs in the third, but otherwise took home a dominant 18-3. Fay again threw all four innings, allowing two hits with none of the runs earned with a strikeout and three walks.

Schutz added another 2 for 3 performance with three RBIs and a double, and Fay went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

For MWP, Bria Elkins knocked in all three runs on a double in the third inning.

Napavine will get a week off before returning to play against Toledo at home next Thursday, while MWP plays Kalama next at White Pass this Thursday.
