Tigers Swept By Ducks

Napavine made improvements on its serve-receive and serving Thursday night at Toutle Lake after a dismal night on Tuesday against Wahkiakum, but it wasn’t enough in a three-set loss to the Ducks (25-11, 25-18, 25-14).

Tigers coach Monica Dailey knew it would be a tough contest for her young squad against a deep and experienced Toutle team.

“They’re a great team,” she said. “The girls worked on trying to limit errors and learn and get better, just like every game. They did a lot better tonight of limiting those.”

Four Tigers were perfect behind the service line: Emily Kang, Grace Gall, Avery Schutz, and Jessie McCoy. Keira O’Neill finished with five kills, Gall was right behind with four, and Schutz and McCoy both dished out five assists.

Napavine’s next match will be Monday on the road for a non-league game against Adna.
