Three Centralia players registered double-digit kills and the Tigers put away Aberdeen in four sets on the road (25-13, 25-23, 20-25, 25-18) for a 2A Evergreen Conference victory Tuesday.

Senior Jadyn Hawley led the attack with 13 kills, while Tatum Johnston and Makayla Chavez each tallied 10.

“We had a lot of opportunities to play some offense for a change,” Centralia coach Marti Smith said.

Evie Rooklidge did her damage at the service line and on defense, finishing with 25 digs and and a team-high six aces on 17 for 17 serving. Ella Orr contributed 16 digs and Peyton Smith pitched in our kills, 12 digs and a match-high 37 assists.

Marti Smith said she was proud of how her team rebounded from the third-set loss by finishing off the match in the fourth set.

“In the fourth set, we didn’t wanna mess around anymore,” Smith said.

Three girls swung up from junior varsity and were commended by Smith for their performances filling in: Payton Baumel, Selah Calkins and Madison Buchanan.

“It was really nice to give them the opportunity and they took advantage of it,” Smith said. “Overall, everyone did a great job contributing.”

Centralia (4-7) was eliminated from postseason contention with W.F. West’s victory over Rochester Tuesday. The Tigers and Bearcats will square off in the second round of the Swamp Cup at 7 p.m. Thursday for Centralia’s season finale.
