The Napavine boys basketball team took the court for the first time on Friday, and the Tigers improved to 1-0 with a 73-55 win over Onalaska.
There wasn’t much rust for the Tigers offensively. They scored at least 15 points in all four quarters, and seven different players scored at least eight points.
Hudson Chambers led the way with 18, while Tyler Watson scored 12. Beckett Landram scored nine, while Grady Wilson, Cal Bullock, Karsen Denault, and Jack Nelson added eight each.
Nelson grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, while Bullock dished out seven assists. Denault was all over the floor, as he also grabbed seven rebounds, tallied five steals, and blocked four shots.
Blaze Underhill hit four threes and scored 17 points to lead the Loggers in scoring, while Maddox McKinley, Justin Jacoby, and Cooper Lawrence added eight each.
Lawrence led the Loggers on the board with seven rebounds, while Case McGraw notched four steals and added three points of his own.
“Just proud of the guys,” Onalaska coach Fred Sturza said. “I saw them grow tonight … They fought all the way through.”
Both teams are back at it on Saturday, when Napavine (1-0, 1-0 C2BL) will head to Toutle Lake, while Onalaska (0-2, 0-2) will look to snap a short skid at Toledo.
