Napavine held Kalama to single-digit scoring in three quarters and the Tigers sprinted past the Chinooks for a 65-29 road victory in Central 2B League play on Thursday.

Hayden Kaut led all scorers with 14 points, while Danielle Tupuola added 11 points and eight rebounds and Grace Gall finished with a double-double of 11 points and 10 boards.

“I thought our girls played really hard tonight,” Napavine coach Shane Schutz said. “We had great, balanced scoring. We also made the extra pass tonight, which led to some easy baskets.”

Nine Tigers in total scored on the night as they shot 38% as a team while holding the Chinooks to 31% from the field.

The Tigers were vicious on defense, tallying 25 steals, forcing 29 turnovers and holding the Chinooks to just 12 points at the half. They also won the rebounding battle, 38-24.
