For the second week in a row, the Napavine Tigers went off in the second quarter, as a 41-point frame against PWV on Friday lifted them to a 66-12 win.
It’s the Tigers’ fourth win in a row, and more importantly, is all but officially seals the C2BL West title.
Colin Shields opened the scoring in the first, but the barrage in the second began with a pair of Caleb Von Pressentin touchdown runs. Grady Wilson then found Denault on a 42-yard strikes before running in a 20-yard score himself, and Beckett Landram punched it in from the one to put Napavine at 49 before the break.
Pe Ell-Willapa Valley got a couple of big plays of its own in that second quarter, as Nathan Fluke found Blaine King for a 10-yard score and Spud Swogger returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown.
Fluke finished 8 for 20 with 92 yards, a touchdown, and a pick, while King finished with four catches for 72 yards.
Von Pressentin scored his third touchdown of the day in the second half, and after a Napavine safety, Hunter Hipp capped the game with a score of his own.
Both teams will finish their regular season on Thursday, as the Tigers (6-2, 4-0 C2BL West) will play Forks while PWV will head to Adna.
