Timberland Regional Library has requested bids for the construction of its new Mountain View Library in Randle.

Interested parties will have until 2 p.m. on Jan. 17 to submit their bid for a new 3,400-square-foot library building on a one-acre site.

The project is part of a four-year goal by the Timberland Regional Library to improve its current 20 buildings and open two new locations in Southwest Washington.

Those submitted base bids and alternate bids will be opened and read aloud at Timberland Regional Library’s headquarters at 415 Tumwater Blvd. SW in Tumwater. The public is invited to attend these bid readings.

As part of the bid process, there will be a non-mandatory pre-bid conference on Jan. 3, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the project site in Randle.

Contract documents will be available Dec. 27 and can be examined at the Southwest Washington Contractors Association at 7017 NE Highway 99, Suite 214, in Vancouver, and online at swac.org. The documents will also be available at J-2 Blueprint Supply Company at 8100 NE St. Johns Road, Suite B-101, in Vancouver, and at plans.j2b.com. To have access to project documents, bidders will be required to sign in as an account manager.

Those making a bid will have to follow state of Washington statutes, regulations and rules about non-discrimination in employment and facilities; rates of payment for wages and fringe benefits to workers; employment of excess numbers of workers who are non-residents of the state of Washington; bid form; bonds, contracts and certificates; restrictions of lien, taxes, and retainage; and barrier-free facilities for people with disabilities.

The Timberland Regional Library covers an area of 7,000 miles in five counties. This includes libraries in Centralia, Chehalis, Oakville, Packwood, Tenino, Tumwater, Winlock and Yelm, among other cities.
