Titans Bust Out Brooms in Sweep of RSB

Playing two tight contests against Raymond-South Bend on the road, the Pe Ell-Willapa Valley softball team defeated the Ravens Tuesday afternoon, 5-2 and then 10-5 in a doubleheader sweep. 

In the first game, a 5-2 win, Lauren Emery pitched a complete game, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out 11 in a dominant performance. She got just enough run support, with Jillian Hodel going 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a double, Payton Peterson going 2 for 3, and Lauren Matlock hitting an RBI-double with two runs scored. 

In the second contest, a 10-5 win, Emery again pitched a complete game with six strikeouts and no walks, allowing nine hits. Hodel went 1 for 1, smacking a triple that scored a pair of runs, and she drew three walks. 

Peterson went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two more RBIs in the second game, and Grace Huber went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a triple to round out a strong day of work for PWV.
