Pe Ell-Willapa Valley's Offense Explodes in Sweep of Wildcats

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley baseball combined for 25 hits across two games during a doubleheader sweep of Ocosta in 2B Pacific League play in Westport on Tuesday.

In Game 1, Garrett Keeton tossed a complete-game shutout, striking out nine and allowing just three hits and one walk as the Titans earned a 13-0 win in five innings.

Hudson Barnum provided the firepower for an offense that saw eight total Titans collect hits and seven score runs — including four who scored multiple runs.

Barnum went 3 for 3 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI. Blake Howard was also 3 for 3 with three RBIs and Kaden Ritzman was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs. Keeton scored three times and drove in two runs, while Derek Fluke scored twice.

The hitting explosion helped the Titans run away early, scoring four runs in each of the first two innings.

In Game 2, PWV scattered 12 hits, led by Barnum, Keeton and Joseph Krafczyk, en route to a 16-6 win in five innings.

Barnum ripped it up again at the plate, going 2 for 2 with three runs, two RBIs and two walks. Keeton was 2 for 3 with three runs, two RBIs and a walk, while Krafczyk was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs.

Krafczyk, Barnum and Riley Pearson combined on the mound, with Pearson tossing three scoreless innings of relief, striking out two with three hits and two walks. Barnum fanned two batters in one inning of relief.

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley heads to Adna for a cross-league matchup at noon on Saturday.
