In its first game in nearly a month after spring break and a series of rainouts, the Pe Ell-Willapa Valley softball team finally got a game in, driving west to defeat Toledo in five innings Friday afternoon, 11-0.
The Titans got a great game from starter Lauren Emery, who threw a complete game shutout with four strikeouts and just three hits allowed, with no walks.
At the plate, Payton Peterson went 3 for 4 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Grace Huber added a 3 for 4 line with another triple, two RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Sophia Milanowski went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, as well.
Toledo’s lone hits came from Brynn Davis and Rahkelle Miller.
The Riverhawks will hope to bounce back against Morton-White Pass on Saturday in a return to league play while PWV takes on Ocosta on the road Tuesday.
