Titans Sweep Wolverines in Doubleheader

In its second straight doubleheader sweep, this time against Northwest Christian of Lacey, the Pe Ell-Willapa Valley baseball team decimated the Wolverines, 25-1, and then 23-0 to move to 4-1 on the season. 

The Titans cruised from start to finish in both games, as in the first, they erupted for 15 runs in the second inning and in the second game, had 18 runs in the first inning to blow it open early. Both games ended in less than five innings. 

Garrett Keeton earned the win in the first game, allowing just one run but striking out nine in four innings pitched. The Titans had 18 hits in the win, led by Kaden Ritzman’s 3 for 3 day at the plate with four runs batted in. 

In the second game, Hudson Barnum threw another shortened no-hitter, striking out seven in three innings and allowing no hits in the 23-0 win. Keeton starred at the plate, going 2 for 4 with four RBIs and a run. 

The Titans will take on Raymond-South Bend next on Saturday in a doubleheader.
