Toledo Blitzes Vikings For Fourth Straight Win

Posted

Doubling up Mossyrock, 60-30, Toledo won its fourth straight game and its fifth game of the season in dominant fashion.

Thanks to 16 points from Jake Cournyer, and an aggressive defense that held the Vikings to single digit scoring in every quarter, the Riverhawks (5-1) stayed in control throughout.

Carson Olmstead also nearly finished with a double-double, with 10 points and seven rebounds. Carson Gould had nine points and eight rebounds.

The Vikings, meanwhile, were led by Keegan Kolb, who scored half their points with 15. But coach Adam Deck was frustrated with his team’s execution in the early season contest.

“We lack effort and depth,” Deck said. “Until they start following the game plan, we’re going to struggle. We’re going through some growing pains.”

Reinforcements will soon be on the way for Mossyrock, as Zack Munoz is set to return at some point next week to provide the Vikings with another strong scoring threat.

Mossyrock will continue league play against Naselle at home on Monday, while Toledo takes on Rochester.
