Seeds are still available at the Toledo Community Library through the end of the week following the ninth annual Seed Swap that took place on Saturday.
Those who attended could take home a wide variety of seeds, from fruits and vegetables to herbs, flowers and more, all free of charge.
Remaining seeds, trees and grape cuttings are free on a first-come, first-served basis.
Gardeners can also make a donation to the all-volunteer library “to show their appreciation for making the space available to hold this event,” organizers said in an email to The Chronicle.
Event organizers encourage gardeners who received seeds this year to grow out the seed, save the seeds the plant produces and return a portion to share with others each year.
“It takes local seed donations to continue to make the seed swap possible,” organizers told The Chronicle.
The Toledo Community Library is located at 241 Cowlitz St. in downtown Toledo. The library is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 4 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
