Toledo Picks Up Jamboree Wins Over Ducks, Comets

Though preseason action, the Toledo softball team picked up two wins to start its season on a high note, beating Toutle Lake and Naselle in three innings each at its jamboree Saturday morning, 7-6 and 6-1, respectively.

In the first game, the Riverhawks and Ducks both came out hot, scoring six runs a piece in the first inning before settling down and not allowing any runs for the next inning and a half. Toledo did just enough in the third inning to squeak out the win at 9:30 a.m. Greenlee Clark had two hits and Quyn Norberg had two hits and two runs batted in.

In the second game against the Comets, the Riverhawks had little trouble limiting the 1B squad.

Averie Robins struck out seven and allowed just one run over three innings to earn the win, while Clark knocked in two RBI and Norberg smacked home two hits.

The Riverhawks will take on Tenino in their season opener on Monday at home.
