Toledo shut down in loss to Toutle Lake

The Toledo baseball team’s four-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday, as the Riverhawks fell at home to Toutle Lake 3-2.

The Ducks got on the board with a run in the top of the first, and that score held until the sixth, when they added another to make it 2-0.

The Riverhawks couldn’t muster a rally in the first five innings, and they went into the sixth still looking for their first hit.

After Eli Weeks drew a walk to lead off the frame, Ryker Sorenson delivered that first hit, and they both came around to score later in the inning to tie the game.

Toutle Lake broke the tie immediately in the seventh, though, scoring on a fielder’s choice.

In the bottom of the seventh, two Riverhawks got into scoring position with just one out, but a strikeout and a flyout ended the ball game.

Rohan Feigenbaum was excellent on the mound, allowing just four hits and an unearned run while striking out seven across five innings. Isaac Parmantier didn’t allow a hit in the final two innings, but he was charged with the loss after two more unearned runs came across the plate.

Toledo finished the game with six errors and just the one hit.

The Riverhawks (7-2, 6-1 C2BL) will look to salvage a split against the Ducks in Toutle on Friday.
