Trailblazers top Titans in exhibition match

The Centralia College women’s soccer team traveled south for a pair of exhibitions this weekend, and the Trailblazers came home with a win and a tie.

Friday’s game against Lane played out very similarly to Centralia’s (1-0) season-opening win against Clackamas, as both defenses limited scoring chances throughout a large portion of the match.

In the 75th minute, Katie Collins came through with the first goal, which went on to stand as the game-winner.

Centralia stayed in Oregon for another exhibition against Bushnell on Saturday, but late in the first half, a thunderstorm rolled through and forced the remainder of the game to be called off.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Tuesday and Wednesday, when they’ll take on Rogue and Yakima Valley in the NWAC Friendlies at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila.

They’ll open league play the following Wednesday, Aug. 28, at home against Umpqua.
