The Centralia College team came away with a big win on the road on Friday, as the Trailblazers topped Lower Columbia College in four 27-25, 25-19, 14-25, 25-17.

“We battled in a loud and exciting gym tonight,” Centralia College coach Ceanna Larson-Michalek said. “Their student section was out in full force … But our ladies were able to execute our gameplan tonight and worked hard to get LC out of system.”

Larson-Michalek went on to say that the Trailblazers knew how hard they would need to work offensively, and she was “very proud” of their ability to get in system and find gaps in LC’s block.

“It was definitely a group effort tonight,” Larson-Michalek said.

Avery Starr led CC with 41 assists, nine digs, and three aces, while Paige Miller added 19 kills, 11 digs, and three aces of her own. Analiese Martin tallied 13 kills and .478 kill efficiency, while Morgan Rogerson added nine kills and Cadence Gumanas added 12 digs and seven kills.

Lawren Pao was a pillar defensively, as she recorded 21 digs.

The Trailblazers (12-7, 2-0 NWAC) will return home on Wednesday, when they’ll go for their fourth-straight win against Tacoma Community College.
