Behind 23 aces from Brookelynn King and Karli Phelps, Pe Ell picked up its first 3-0 victory of the season with a 25-5, 25-8, 25-4 verdict over the Washington School for the Deaf at home on Tuesday night in a Class 1B Columbia Valley league opener.
Phelps notched 13 aces from the service line and King registered 10. Sophia Milanowski served 100 percent and Madi Engel led the attack with six kills.
“We saw some issues in last week’s non-league games that we needed to address,” Trojans head coach Jill Engel said. “It was good to see everything come together defensively.”
Pe Ell (2-2, 1-0 CV) will host another league contest on Thursday against Firm Foundation Christian School.
