The Pe Ell volleyball team saw its season come to an end in the second round of the 1B District 4 tournament, falling to Willapa Valley 25-11, 25-20, 19-25, 25-18 in Menlo on Wednesday.
Seniors Charlie Carper, Payton Peterson, and Layla Smith all played their last games for the Trojans. Carper put up a team-best six kills, and both she and Smith served 100% on the night, as did Brookelynn King.
Pe Ell ends its season with a 7-12 record, and will return six of the nine players on its roster, all of whom were either freshmen or sophomores this year.
“Coming in with only one league win and making it to the second round of district with such a young group, I couldn’t be more proud of them,” coach Eddi Peterson said.
