Trojans Fall In Regular Season Finale

In its last game of the regular season, Pe Ell came out flat-footed and fell in straight sets to Naselle, 25-12, 25-9, 25-13, Tuesday night.

“Something was off from the beginning,” Trojans coach Hollie Briggs said. “We just didn’t move, we were slow with our feet and they took advantage.”

Out their starting libero, former JV outside hitter Dani Shannon stepped up on the varsity stage and played well at the net and recorded a block and a kill. Teammate Allie Engel also had a good day at the net, deflecting six Naselle attempts and disrupting as much offense as she could in a tough loss.

The Trojans (8-9, 6-7 league) served 28 for 30, nearly perfect, behind the service line.

Though its a tough loss, the outcome had no effect on Pe Ell’s No. 4 standing in the 1B Columbia Valley League, where they are scheduled to play Taholah next Tuesday. Starting libero Ava Bush, who has been sidelined with injury, is expected to return.
