Rolling out plenty of new faces, the Pe Ell volleyball team got off to a slow start but turned things around in time to run home winners in four sets of Mary M. Knight, 19-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-12.
Playing four freshmen and a sophomore in the starting lineup, coach Eddi Peterson credited senior Layla Smith for helping right the ship early, coming off the bench to serve some crucial points.
The Trojans (1-0) will look to keep things going against Oakville on Thursday.
