It took one game for the Pe Ell High School boys basketball team to face some adversity and they passed with flying colors, erasing a 15-0 deficit to defeat North Beach 53-39 on Monday night.
Blake Nelson poured in a team-high 17 points in helping the Trojans (1-0) complete the comeback. They trailed by five at halftime then took control of the final two periods. Jakob Hayes registered 13 points and Calan McCarty secured 10 points and eight rebounds.
Pe Ell will face Northwest Christian (Lacey) on Wednesday night in South Thurston County.
