The Pe Ell volleyball found itself a set from the brink Tuesday, but came back to beat Winlock in five, 25-16, 21-25, 21-25, 25-13, 15-12 in a nonleague matchup.

“It was very exciting play tonight,” Pe Ell coach Eddi Peterson said. “Both teams seem very equal and it was good to be able to play them.”

Freshman Madi Engel led the Trojans with six kills. Bailey Cox, Charlie Carper, and Brookelynn King all finished 100% at the service line, while Peterson also pointed to Payton Peterson helping out in the service effort.

Pe Ell is set to host Columbia Adventist on Wednesday, while Winlock will go to Kalama.
