The Tumwater boys basketball team suffered a close loss to White River on Saturday, losing 80-75 on its home court.
The two sides were even throughout, but the main difference came at the free throw line. The Hornets made 26 of their 33 chances at the line while the T-Birds shot just 10 for 18.
Jake Dillon led the Thunderbirds with 21 points, while Sahara Anthony scored 16. Beckett Wall had 13 points and six rebounds, while Bryce Morgan scored seven points and dished out six assists.
Landon Anchors and Luke Overbay both scored six points, and Overbay hauled in eight rebounds, and Braeden Konrad grabbed seven boards and scored four points.
Tumwater (5-2) will begin league play at home against W.F. West on Wednesday.
