Shelton showed some fight for an inning, but the Tumwater baseball team got into gear as the afternoon went on Tuesday to pull away for a 10-3 win in 2A EvCo play.
After falling behind 3-2 after a frame, the Thunderbirds put up four crooked numbers, including three in the final four innings.
Eddie Marson and Kyler Collier both had two-hit days for Tumwater, the latter logging a double and three RBIs to boot. Brayden Oram went 1 for 3 with a double, a walk, two runs scored, and two more driven in, and Graysen Reveal had two RBIs. Alex Overbay finished without a hit, but drew three walks and came around to score every time.
Trenton Gaither went 3 ⅓ innings, allowing three unearned runs on two hits and four walks. Derek Thompson got the T-Birds the rest of the way, striking out five and giving up just a hit and a walk.
Tumwater will be back in action next Tuesday, opening up its series against Centralia.
