The Twin City Wrestling Club won their first Washington State Wrestling Association (WSWA) Tournament on Sunday at the Ilwaco Christmas Clash.
Nearly four dozen wrestlers made the trip, and though originally it was believed the Mat Cats took second, a scoring error was corrected to put them in first.
TCWC won the tournament with 201.5 points, while Thunder Mountainer took second with 192. Mat Rats Rebooted rounded out the top three with 187.5
The Twin City champions were Isabella Nelson (Girls K-2nd 47-51), Khai Davis (U8 40), Ryker Parsons (U8 49), Colt Miller (U8 56), Kash Davis (U10 63), Ezra Sudano (U12 67), Harrison Woodward (U12 78), Michael Rice (U12 86), Dean Carrington (U12 92), Nicholas Schultz (U12 108), Thomas Ritchey (U14 92), and Kaiden Coates (U14 132).
Runner-ups were Luke Day (U8 62-68), Evalyn Martinez (Girls 3rd-5th 48), Zayvynn Sanders (U10 49), Jace Hanson (U10 71), Brayden Nelson (U10 93), Elijah Topete (U12 70), Grayson Day (U12 74), Archer Bogar (U12 108), Hunter Fulwaider (U14 80), and Jonny Schultz (U16 144).
Placing third was Judah Gonzales (U8 45), Chase Phillips (U8 53), Easton Fulwider (U10 56), Riley Morton (U10 59), Raylan Parsons (U10 67), Riley Nichols (U12 82), Titus Whitehead (U12 108), Anthony Soeby (U14 84), Jonny Schultz (U14 140-145), Skylar Powel (Middle School Girls 99).
Next up for the Mat Cats is a WSWA Tournament at Elma High School on Sunday, Dec. 29. Wrestling starts at 10 a.m.
