Twin Transit Begins Weekday Service Between Centralia and Morton

Posted

Twin Transit is now providing weekday service between Centralia and Morton.

The service began on Monday, according to a release by Twin Transit.

The newly created Brown Line will run Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Passengers will be able to stop at multiple locations along U.S. Highway 12. The Brown Line allows riders to connect with all Twin Transit routes, including express routes to Kelso and Olympia. All Twin Transit routes are free of charge until further notice. The Brown Line departs Centralia every two hours beginning at 6 a.m., except for a break at noon.

Riders will be able to travel from the Centralia Mellen Energy Station to the Morton Energy Station in under two hours. The route will allow passengers to connect with Lower Columbia CAP transportation, RiverCities Transit, Cowlitz Tribal transportation, Intercity Transit and Rural Transit.

The Brown Line will be piloted through August, when Twin Transit will use ridership data and rider feedback to make any necessary adjustments to the route.

Twin Transit also offers travel training, a free program that teaches riders how to easily use public transportation. As part of the program, a travel trainer will work with a rider to determine what their transportation needs are and how Twin Transit services can best serve them. According to Twin Transit, travel training can be a helpful resource for those seeking to ride the Brown line.
