Two Kalama residents dead after one-vehicle crash Sunday

Two Kalama residents are dead after a their vehicle hit a tree and a train car early Sunday.

Logan R. Kallwick, 33, and Taylor R. Lavigne, 23, died at the scene, Washington State Patrol reports in a news release.



Kallwick was driving a 2018 Audi southbound on Interstate 5, north of exit 27 at around 1:30 a.m., when the vehicle, in which Lavigne was a passenger, left the roadway to the right, hit a tree, then a rail car containing liquid propane, and came to a rest on the shoulder, the report states.

The cause of the investigation is under investigation.
