Two Lewis County Jail inmates are facing felony charges after jail staff found fentanyl pills pressed into the cap of a deodorant stick in late February.

Three pills were reportedly found Feb. 28 inside a small plastic baggie pressed into the cap of a deodorant stick in an inmate’s cell, according to court documents.

The inmate, Lisa M. Fish, 48, was charged March 1 with one count of possession of a controlled substance while in a correctional facility.

When questioned, Fish allegedly said the stick of deodorant belonged to her but said she allowed several other women at the jail to use it and she didn’t know fentanyl was inside the deodorant.

Fish pleaded not guilty and her trial is scheduled to begin May 1.

During an infraction hearing at the jail on March 3, a second inmate, Angel Rose Jackson, 21, allegedly gave a statement “admitting that the fentanyl pills were hers and that Fish had no idea the pills were inside the deodorant,” according to court documents.

Jackson was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance while in a correctional facility on March 17.

Her arraignment hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 23.
