The United Way of Lewis County is bringing back its Reading Buddy program.
According to a statement released by the United Way of Lewis County, the Reading Buddy program “is a vital volunteer program that impacts grade-level reading success for local kids.”
As part of the program, volunteers work directly with students on a weekly basis, helping to boost their academic performance.
“Reading Buddies lend community support to schools and teachers and help create a positive reading experience, giving students extra encouragement. One hour a week with a struggling reader is all it takes to make a difference!” the statement said.
Volunteer schedules are flexible.
