Verlyn Dee Bullock went to be with his Lord, Saturday morning, May 18, 2019, passing peacefully in his sleep at his home in Centralia, Wash. He was born in Portis, Kan., Nov. 19, 1935, to Melvin Wayne and Helen M. (Wren) Bullock.

Verlyn was known for his quiet strength and tender heart and was loved by all that knew him. He was always quick to hug and offer help to all whose path he crossed.

He and Verdelle have been members of the Centralia Church of the Nazarene for over 40 years. They are both dearly loved by so many and were both active in the church and local ministry activities, including many lay mission projects overseas.

He worked for almost 30 years at his last career with Alarm Center, Inc. in Lacey, Wash., until his failing health forced him into retirement in 2018.

Verlyn is survived by his wife of 39 years, Verdelle Bullock; children, Gary Bullock of Palm Springs, Calif., Terry Bullock of Grants Pass, Ore., and Celeste Nichols-Gangwere of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Heather, Nicole, Amy, Kami, Morgan, Levi, Hannah and Micah; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Travis Bullock of Kennewick, Wash.

A memorial service celebrating Verlyn’s life and legacy will be held Friday, May 31, 2019, at 2 p.m., at the Centralia Church of the Nazarene, 1119 W. 1st St., Centralia, WA 98531. Friends and family are welcome.
