VerNon "Glen" Upton

VerNon "Glen" Upton passed away Monday, April 12, 2021, at home.
Glen was born July 2, 1935, in Tremonton, Utah, to Glen Howard Upton and Ina Mae (Holt) Upton.
Glen met the love of his life, Dorothy (Fisher) Upton in Grandview, Wash., while driving long haul trucks. They were married April 17, 1970, and would have celebrated 51 years of marriage April 17, 2021.
Glen is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; son, James Glen (Jim) Upton; daughter, Lori Ann Saline; three grandsons, Brandon Upton, Christopher, and Jonathan Saline; and two great-grandchildren, Sylis Saline and Aurora Saline. He is also survived by four children from a previous marriage, Glenda Upton, Gloria Upton, Gary Upton (deceased), and Gerry Upton.
Glen enjoyed deep sea fishing, and deer and elk hunting. He was very active in the Chehalis Eagles #1550. Glen was a heavy equipment operator at the Centralia Steam Plant, taking early retirement at the age of 55. He then worked out of Operating Engineers Local 612 until the age of 70. Glen served four years active duty in the United States Navy, stationed in Hawaii, and was involved in the Korean Conflict.
Due to COVID, there will be a graveside service at Claquato Cemetary. Viewing will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 1 p.m., at Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
