The Mossyrock softball team ended its home schedule with a bang on Wednesday, defeating Morton-White Pass 14-2 in five innings in their final home game of the regular season.
The Vikings took control instantly, scoring eight runs in the first and four in the second to go up 12-1.
Erin Cournyer pitched all five innings, allowing five hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out seven. Brooke Schwartz went 3 for 3 and drove in three runs, and Maci Rashoff also went 3 for 3 and added two RBIs of her own.
Taylor Schwartz reached base in all four of her plate appearances and also drove in two, and Lois Stone added two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.
Bria Elkins collected two hits and scored one of MWP’s two runs, while Ryelin Wiedenmann and Alexis Moe drove the two runs in.
Both teams are back on Monday, when MWP (5-10, 0-5 C2BL) hosts Toutle Lake in Morton and Mossyrock (5-9, 2-3 C2BL) kickstarts a three-game road trip with a matchup in Winlock.
