Seven Mossyrock players scored touchdowns and the Vikings ran through Oakville for a 70-8 victory in 1B Columbia Valley League action to secure the league’s final playoff spot on Thursday in Oakville.

Austin Barnes, Mateo Mendoza and Sage Greisen led the way with three touchdowns apiece. Both of Barnes’ TDs came from pick-sixes, while Mendoza tacked on two scores from 10 and 9 yards out and Greisen ripped off touchdown runs of 75 and 20 yards.

Quarterback Easton Kolb hit wideout Keegan Kolb for a 60-yard bomb, while Ben Cruz added a 37-yard touchdown romp and Kainen Zavodsky capped off the scoring with a 31-yard TD rush.

The victory gives the Vikings, who have won three-straight games, some traction heading into the district playoffs. Mossyrock (5-4 overall) will travel to 1B Northwest League champion Neah Bay at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, in a winner-to-state, loser-out match.

“We feel good and we’re gonna put both feet forward and let the chips fall where they may,” Mossyrock coach Eric Ollikainen said.
