With point guard Payton Torrey returning to the lineup after being out with an illness, Mossyrock upended Three Rivers Christian in its league opener, 66-35, Thursday night.

The Vikings (3-2, 1-0 CVL) got 18 points from the returning Torrey, who also dished out five assists. Every player that played for the Vikings Thursday ended up in the scoring column in a well-rounded effort.

“She moved the ball really well,” Vikings coach Autumn Moorcroft said. “Seeing everyone that played score is a testament to how hard they work.”

Caelyn Marshall also scored 18 points, and Abbie Lovan and Chesney Schultz were next with eight points each. Lovan also grabbed 10 boards and Marshall finished with five steals.

“Caelyn’s defensive presence was great tonight,” Moorcroft said.

The Vikings will take on Naselle on the road next Tuesday for their next contest.
