The Mossyrock boys basketball team held serve Tuesday in 1B Columbia Valley League play, beating Columbia Adventist 67-50 to clinch one of the top two spots in the league and keep their hopes of a league title alive.

Keegan Kolb led the Vikings with 17 points, Cooper Young added 16, and Matt Cooper scored 14.

Columbia Adventist held things close on its home floor for three quarters, trailing by just five going to the fourth, but Mossyrock stuck its foot in the ground and pushed off, going on a 20-8 run in the final eight minutes to pull away for good.

The result sets up a winner-take-all showdown in Mossyrock on Friday, with Willapa Valley coming to town to battle for the 1B CVL title. Last time around, the Menlo Vikings rode out 71-57 winners.

First, though, Mossyrock will host Onalaska in a non-league showdown Wednesday.
