Having a hard time at the dish, the Mossyrock baseball team fell on the road in a league battle with Naselle, 5-0, Thursday evening.
The Vikings managed to equal the Comets in hits, 5-5, but couldn’t put any balls in play when it mattered in the loss. Jacob Comer was the only Viking with multiple hits, going 2 for 3.
Comer also got the start on the bump and threw 4 1/3 innings, striking out nine but walking six and giving up a grand slam to Naselle star Kolten Lindstrom.
Lindstrom started opposite Comer and pitched a complete game shutout, allowing just five hits and striking out 11 on 88 pitches.
Mossy resumes play after spring break against Pe Ell-Willapa Valley at home April 12.
