Warriors fall to Beavers in crossover

The Rochester football team saw its season come to an end Friday in Cowlitz County, losing to 2A GSHL champions Woodland 33-8 in a district crossover.

The Warriors end their season with a 5-5 record overall.

Friday evening, the Beavers took control early, leading 13-0 at halftime and getting to 26-0 through three quarters, before Tate Quarnstrom got the Warriors on the board with a 2-yard dive of a touchdown.

But for the better part of the night, Rochester’s rushing attack managed little, finishing with 143 yards as a unit on 47 carries, and going into halftime with just three first downs to its name.

The Warriors are set to graduate 11 seniors from this year’s team: Quarnstrom, Sean Ivy, Palmer Watt, Nolan Hudson, Asher Neff, Jack Dane, Jacob Osborn, Brandon Morrow, Jaden Nichols, Mason Armstrong and Parker McAferty.
