The last time Rochester and Mark Morris tangled on the softball diamond, the former upended the latter in the Class 2A District 4 quarterfinals. Friday night proved to be a revenge game for the Monarchs in a 9-0 triumph in Longview.
Mark Morris ace Makenzie Henthorn fired a 17-strikeout no-hit masterpiece to keep them with an unblemished mark and end Rochester’s (5-2) five-game winning streak.
Addi Morgan was the lone Warrior to reach base with a walk in the top of the sixth. The Monarchs broke the game open with a four-run third and a three-run fifth.
Rochester will face another former district opponent on April 15 when it hosts Woodland.
