Warriors Pick Up First League Win Over Tigers

Bouncing back after opening league with two losses, the Rochester football team defeated Centralia at home Friday night, 38-6.

The Warriors ran the ball with efficiency, with Braden Hartley toting the rock 14 times for 100 yards, and quarterback Tate Quarnstrom adding 16 carries for 102 yards, pacing a Warrior squad that finished with 248 total rushing yards.

Hartley added a rushing score, and Quarnstrom scored one on the ground and two through the air, going 8 for 14 with 120 passing yards and just one interception.

“It was a complete team win, we did some really good things on special teams, and the defense played really well,” Warriors coach AJ Easley said. “Ashton Rodriguez and Tate both blocked punts tonight, too. Add in that you rush for 248 yards, your o-line is doing something right, they’re doing a good job.”

Rodriguez caught one of Quarnstrom’s touchdowns, and the other went on a long pass to Brady Baird for a score.

The Tigers were again held to just one score, a short Kellen Rooklidge run in the third quarter. Rooklidge finished with 54 rushing yards. Dustin Ingles added two catches for 32 yards.

On defense, Rooklidge added an interception with two tackles, Gabe Seymour had seven tackles, and Ingles had three. The Tigers are still looking for their first win, and take on Shelton on Thursday next week, while the Warriors play at Chehalis against W.F. West on Friday.
