Warriors run over Bobcats to get into win column

The Rochester football team earned Win No. 1 on Friday, as the Warriors topped Aberdeen 33-7  on Friday.

Carson Rotter got Rochester on the board in the first, while Ethan Rodriguez doubled the lead with a 3-yard score in the second.

Xander Peterman also hit paydirt from three yards out later in the quarter, and after Aberdeen responded with a score of its own, Rodriguez broke free for a 52-yard touchdown to make it 26-7.

Rodriguez scored his third touchdown in the fourth quarter, and that was the only score from either side in the second half.

As a team, the Warriors rushed for 396 yards, most of which came from Peterman (17 carries for 126 yards), Rotter (nine carries for 122 yards), and Rodriguez (10 carries for 114 yards).

The Rochester defense was just as impressive, specifically in the red zone. The Warriors made three separate goal line stands, allowing zero points on 14 Aberdeen plays inside the 10.

It’ll be another former EvCo opponent for the Warriors next week, as Rochester (1-2) will return home to host Black Hills.
