Warriors Strong Start Leads to Win over Wolves

Using a balanced scoring attack and a strong lead, the Rochester softball team upended Black Hills at home, 7-1, Monday evening. 

The Warriors started Layna Demers in the circle, and Demers threw a complete game, allowing one earned run on four hits with eight strikeouts. The Wolves Zoey Theophilus countered with a complete game of her own, with one earned run on nine hits, four walks, and five strikeouts. 

At the plate, Kassidy Byrd knocked in a run, and Kaylee Demers added another RBI for the Warriors. Black Hills’ Becca Kyle knocked in the Wolves only run. 

Rochester takes on Aberdeen next on the road Wednesday, while the Wolves play rival Tumwater across town.
