Warriors Take Down Bobcats in the Harbor

Grabbing a two-set lead and nearly letting it slip through its fingers, the Rochester volleyball team held on to defeat Aberdeen in the Harbor, 25-17, 25-16, 16-25, 19-25, 17-15.

Dominating through the first two sets, the Warriors got caught making a substitution error, and lost any of all momentum they might’ve had to that point, dropping the next two sets in fairly convincing fashion.

“Our girls went in to sub, but they went in too early, and it set us back, for some reason we made it a big deal and we couldn’t recover from it,” Warriors coach Bridget Morris said. “It pushed in to struggling in game four. We have to be able to go on the attack instead of playing the defensive game.

“We were our own worst enemy tonight.”

Roisin Stull was solid again for the Warriors with seven kills, eight aces, and 10 digs. Delaney Winter added six kills and four blocks, Lauren Rotter had three kills and eight digs, and Cheyenne Justice had seven digs at the libero spot.

The Warriors take on Shelton at home on Thursday for their next contest.
